Day 5
We left El Paso at 4 am and the girls blissfully slept for hours we imagine our trip home will be many early mornings to allow us to cover more miles. The 10 through Texas is beautiful filled with gorgeous plateaus amazing sunrise and beautiful views it is also ridiculously long extremely boring and wow what a drive!!! We did however make great time - we ate breakfast at a mom and pop in the middle of nowhere and they had an old car museum there - so random. Then we drove to San Antonio - this city is so very cool. The architecture is beautiful the history fascinating and of course hot and humid. We walked from our hotel to the river walk and jumped on a boat tour -then had a yummy fancy dinner in honor of my moms birthday and then we walked to the Alamo - I am a big fan of major historical things being in the middle of it all. The river walk is extremely touristy and overpriced not entirely kid friendly as the railings would completely allow a child to fall right in but it is beautiful and historical. A more fun area for kids is near the Alamo - stores shops history they even have a children's museum (we didn't go) - the building design and city layout is so astheticelly pleasing really love it here.
